ENTANGLED (part 2)
Episode 15
He turned slowly..his heart raced fast..binah legs went weak..he caught her before she fell..the assassin was long gone..
"No no no no..Binah no"
His eyes widened..she was lifeless..painful tears gushed from his eyes..he wasn't thinking straight..fortu
nately wole was at home..he called and requested for his car..wole helped put Binah in..he was agitated and shaky so wole insisted on driving..
Aduke cup of water fell from her hands. Her heart missed..Binah?
She just got home..she had warned Binah not to leave the house..her phone rang..it was Binah calling..she quickly picked..Jide tearful and shaky voice made her burst into tears before she heard the whole story..
Aduke rushed to the hospital..as she approached she noticed the blood stains on Jide's hands as he paced around..she was trying her best to remain calm
"Rufus..Rufus"
Was all she kept muttering..as she sat on the bare tiles.. Jide heard her..he wiped his tears and drove to Rufus..
Rufus knew the worst had happened when he saw Jide.. He had called the assassin to abort the mission but he was a little too late.
"Jide calm down..I can explain..Binah is my daughter..I didn't know..I didn't know"
Jide remained quiet.. His eyes were red and swollen..the dots of Binah's blood was still visible on his cheek..Binah was his daughter?..well does that even matter now?..he nodded his head like he understood..until he stood up and grabbed Rufus by the neck..the policemen ran to both of them..to restrain Jide.. He fought his way and landed his fist on Rufus nose which burst out bleeding
"That's for Binah!..and trust me if anything happens to her..you would spend the rest of your life miserable"
He bounced out..and rushed back to the hospital..the operation lasted over night..the doctor had informed them that chances of her survival were 50:50..the bullet had gone deep since it was from a close range..
The next day the operation ended..Jide and Aduke rushed in to see her. She was placed to lie on her belly..placed on oxygen for support..
"Binah please wherever you are..please fight...
He couldn't finish his statement..she went unstable..the monitor set to monitor her heart beeped fast..
Aduke shouted for the doctor...the doctor rushed in with two nurses and tried every possible way to resuscitate her..however, the monitor flattened..Aduke fainted
Jide rushed to her..
"No Binah please I beg you..no..I love you Binah..do you hear me?..I love you..don't you dare leave me I beg you!!
ENTANGLED (part 2)
Episode 16
She jerked back to life..the monitor beeped in response.. Jide was highly relieved..did he just say he loved her? Of course he did..how come he didn't realize that life wouldn't be the same without her..hours later George, Mariam, and flora rushed to the hospital..Aduke had been revived and she never left Binah's side
Paul showed up too..he rushed into the ward and met Jide sitting beside her
"Get away from her Jide.. You caused this..you and your evil father"
Jide was just too tired to start a fight with him..he simply left the ward for Paul..he needed a drink anyway
Days went by..weeks to a month.. Binah remained in comma..Jide bought flowers everyday that the nurses gossiped and had to dispose some for ventilation..he would buy a novel and read it to her like she was listening..he cracked jokes that he alone laughed to..Aduke could see the love he had for her daughter.. She was indeed glad Binah had Jide
George and Jide grew close..they both loved Binah dearly so it didn't take much stress to grow fond of each other..Paul on the other hand was becoming bitter..Aduke and the family was paying little or no attention to him..all their attention was centered on Jide despite all he did..it was like he didn't exist..he hated Jide for that and wished he would just die..
Rufus had refused to take his medication..he was beyond broken..he was deserted..abandoned by all..he couldn't live with the guilt that he killed his own daughter.. How come he never noticed..he waited patiently for death to take its course..he had given up on life.
A month and two days Binah opened her eyes..Jide was the first she saw..she couldn't move any part of her body. So she struggled to mutter his name. It was 2am in the morning, he was asleep..
"J..Jide, Jide"
Jide sprang up..tears of joy flowed from his eyes..he wanted to call for the doctor but he changed his mind
"I'm right here..I'll never leave your side"
A promise he planned to keep..she smiled weakly and slept off. Jide couldn't close his eyes..he watched her closely till dawn..to make sure nothing happened
Aduke..George and Mariam were beyond happy..flora had hurried home to prepare something for Binah to eat..Miriam couldn't stop talking..she had to tell Binah all she had missed
Days later she was able to sit up..she stretched her right hand for Jide to come close..he held her hand..he sensed her fear
"What's wrong Binah?"
He asked as he sat beside her
"Jide...Jide I can't feel my legs".
